Emergency and critical-care Nursing
Critical Nursing is a field of nursing that focuses on intensive care for critically ill patients following major injuries, surgery or life-threatening illnesses. Emergency care and critical care can be the most challenging parts of nursing and some of the most rewarding as they make in-depth patient care that may be ineffective or may have very poor outcome. Emergency care begins when you arrive, and the situation begins with triage.
Critical care nurses can be found working in a variety of settings and specialized areas, such as:
- Sick housing
- Victim Care Centres
- Cardiac care facilities
- Burn the unit
- A unit for children
- Emergency department emergency department departments
